13-November: Mad World
An unusually low water temperature, perhaps due to a cold upwelling from the depth of the Banda Sea, combined with rather limited visibility made this dive a little challenging, however we were amply rewarded with the record fish count on this cruise! Fish were just everywhere around the edge of the ridge, and those divers that swam out into the blue a little caught sight of a scalloped hammerhead!

12-November: Southern Delight
We had two stunning dives here this morning! On both dives we saw hammerheads and perhaps the biggest dogooth tuna we had ever seen anywhere. What’s more, one of our dive guides saw a mola-mola!

10-November: Edge of Eden
This dive had everything it takes to be nice – a beautiful coral and sponge slope, lots of schooling fish including some pelagics at the small ridge extending into the blue, and a terrific hard coral garden in the shallows at the end of the dive – but what made it truly unforgettable was the surprise visit by a whaleshark fifteen minutes into the dive!

08-November: Crocodile Beach
We found a great muck dive site here, spotting numerous nudibranches including many rare species, mating solar-powered nudis, and mutant-size spanish dancers as well as tiny frogfish.

07-November: Running Rainbows
This turned out as good as an exploration dive possibly can! Descending down a steep wall with a bit of current running, we were totally swamped by schooling fish. Large dogooth tuna were patrolling the reef (and us?), and there were countless rainbow runners, just about everywhere from the wall to the steep slope sections all the way to the reef shallows.
